Busy with Sen no Kiseki 2 at the moment, and will probably continue to be so for another month. So no updates until then. I'm thinking of translating the Sen 2 bond events for Alisa and Fie after I'm done with my first playthrough. And probably any Rean x Alisa events (my ship lol)

ReplyDeleteAh ok, I don't usually read the things on my site since I read/edit through the text editor and that's black text/white background. Just found out yesterday that reading white text/black background for a period of time makes me see a persistent image when I look away.

ReplyDeleteWhich of the female characters do you think, have real romantic subtext in Sen no Kiseki II with Rean in the end? (most likely canon ending girl for him.)
Well I'm in the final chapter now, and you can choose to pair him up with anyone for ending. But the real canon one is Alisa, pretty obvious from all the girl's events. Honestly though, her's is the only one built up nicely (from a combination of events and bond events from Sen I to Sen II). The other girls... the things said in their final events feel like they came out of nowhere and forcefully paired up together just for fan service. It basically feels like they're friends from their bond events, and then suddenly there's a love confession with no buildup in between =_= there's no indication at all that Rean likes them and then they drop love confessions on us like a brick lolol........ definitely not my favorite part of the game
DeleteSo for that reason, I'm most likely only going to do Rean x Alisa ending because it's the only one that flows with the story. I'll be doing Fie's bond events excluding the final scene. Honestly I felt some of the bond events with the other girls were quite nice and had some good information/background, but then they had to go and destroy those relationships with the final scenes ugh... I'd much rather forget about those scenes asap.

DeleteI agree with you too, it seems like the bond endings with other girls are pretty forceful, like all of a sudden they love Rean. The unwanted harem pop out of nowhere to Rean on Sen2. Hug scenes...there's seem to be many of them with Rean, even Machias gets a hug from him haha (well friendship hug for machias).
I haven't played Sen2 but I read in a game forum that the only person who gets the kiss-on-the-lip scene with Rean in the end is Alisa (＾▽＾)
To be fair, most of the girls have shown signs that they like him (though only in their bond events, unlike Alisa's where you can see even in the main story). What makes the final scenes forced and awkward is Rean's sudden "I like you" to the girls. That came flying out of nowhere. No romantic sign/feelings from Rean even in the girl's bond events (except Alisa's of course). So that sudden love confession is really weird. Another reason why I hate it is because of what it does to the overall story. It's pretty clear that they've been building up Rean × Alisa ever since the first game into the second one (not just from bond events, but from main story events as well) So if you choose other girls as your Sen 2 ending partner, it basically makes that part of the story buildup meaningless. That's why I dislike them throwing the final scenes in there, it feels so last minute with no regard to the story, basically just fan service to cater all fans :/
